Design
Bushnell Bone Collector is one of the most stunning and creative camos in any rangefinder. The camo appears so good!
With a True Tree Xtra-Camo, the rangefinder boasts a rugged exterior. I must note the skin is just stunning again. Rangefinder dimensions are 1.4 x 3.8 x 2.9 inches and weigh 218g / 7.7oz.
Magnification
The rangefinder has a 4x magnification with a focus lens of 20 mm. The objective lens is vivid, and images are rarely taken with color accuracy.
Although we accept that it is a rangefinder, not a spotter so, to justify the product, it should function well in range finding. The rangefinder has a range of between 10 yards and 600 yards. For its price it is long-range. The low powered magnification helps in acquiring character better at such a long stretch.
Optical Structure
The Bushnell Bone Collector Rangefinder requires a monocular optical settled center system to check the objective. Inside the optical framework is mounted a fluid crystal display (LCD) and, when actuated, displays an aiming reticule for focusing, on yards, and low battery signal. Innate in the assembly phase are small dark spots that appear in the optical framework.
These are a normal characteristic for the LCD and can not be wiped out entirely in the assembly procedure. They have little to no effect upon the separating execution of the unit.
Unit of Measurements Option
You may use the rangefinder to measure removals in yards or meters. The unit of measuring pointers is located in the LCD’s lower right segment. The unit should be off to select between yards and meters.
Push and hold the POWER button down for about 5 seconds when looking through the eyepiece. In the middle of this period, all fluid portions of precious stones and icons will be shown.
When you toggle the power button, the screen will switch back and forth between Yards and Meters. When the unit of measure required is shown, stop pressing the power button. The rangefinder will return to the last unit of a setting of measure used each time the unit is turned on.
Power
A CR2 lithium battery powers the rangefinder, but the battery inside the package is not included. You have got to buy it yourself.
The nice aspect of the Bushnell Bone Collector is that a 9-volt battery drives it. This form of battery can be found in nearly any store. It can be found even in rural locations.
The battery has less space to wiggle, so it won’t fall off the rangefinder when using.
Rainproof
It is a rainproof Rangefinder. The material of the body is not metal or aluminum. The body is therefore, only water-resistant and can be used in light rain conditions.
Bushnell recommends that you should not use this under heavy rain. The rangefinder isn’t really waterproof which means some water can get inside and the damages starts from the inside of the rangefinder.
